Become a Lion
Are you interested in:
- Serving your community and enjoying the feeling of accomplishment and pride that comes with helping others?
- Enjoying the fellowship of other community leaders?
- Participating in an internationally recognized and respected organization?
- Exercising your leadership skills at community, district, state, national, and even international levels?
- Learning more about how you can grow within the organization and help the organization flourish?
Being a good citizen?
As a Lion you can do any or all of these things.
What does it take to become a Lion?
Contact your nearest Lions Club. (Click Here for a listing of clubs by city in District 32-A) Let them know that you are interested; they will take it from there. You can attend meetings as a guest to learn more about the club.
What will be expected of you as a Lion?
Attendance at meetings (frequency varies among clubs, usually two one-hour meetings per month with maybe lunch or dinner included -- meetings vary between club business and programs provided by outside speakers.
Pay monthly or quarterly dues (very low) which cover your club's administrative expenses (meals, name tags, member awards, postage, etc.) and also support similar efforts at district, state, and international levels. (You receive the State Lions newsletter and the international Lions magazine at no additional charge.)
Participate in club activities and serve on club committees and/or as a club officer.
If you desire, participate in activities beyond your club such as District, State, or International (attend meetings, participate on committees, run for office).
